It was another cold one today! With the temps being around 10 degrees I could only get in 3.09 miles and I felt it in my legs. As we bid farewell to 2017 I know it was a year of struggle and more importantly victories for me. Often I think back to the the 'low points' that I like to call very educating in terms of running and life. Ann Arbor and the collapse, Dayton and the collapse, running through horrible pain from shin splints and various pulled muscles and learning how to better care for myself as a result.
The high points were almost too many to list, but I'll get into a few. The fact that I pulled off 4 successful marathons within a 12 month period made me quite happy. The amazing runners I've met and the advice they given me. Behind the scenes I've made huge strides with the documentary and the production. As we roll into 2018 I'll be making clips available through this blog, so stay tuned. Lasting I made it a goal to pull off 1000 miles this year and am happy to report that I turned in 1127.81. Next year I'm aiming for over 1300 miles and that coveted Boston QT. I've got several marathons set up and am looking forward to traveling west this coming summer. My goal is to 'get smart' with my training and my nutrition. To better plan out what I eat and do more relaxed runs, and intense runs when called for. But here's to 2017 and the lessons and goals met, and here's the 2018 and the lessons I will learn and the goals I will work my tail off to achieve.
