It wasn't an overly successful run today, just 12 miles. The cold weather continues to offer up challenges and I try to meet them. The temperature was 25, but with the wind it brought it down to 17 degrees. But hey, frozen hair and an icy beard. I never thought I'd say I miss a 90 degree run.

Oh how I needed this run. With all of the ice and hours working and life in general. it had been a while since I was able to cut loose and run for a longer distance. I'm still behind on my scheduled miles but in this moment I'm just going to enjoy this little victory. 32 degrees and the only ice was clinging to the trees on the trail, it made for an awesome setting. Today was a 'V'ictory.
The Indiana weather has continued to be a challenge. The new goal is to get in any running I can when I get the chance. The temps have been between 18 and 5 degrees as of the last two weeks, and with the days lacking sunlight by the time I get off from work.. Well it's a challenge. A year ago I could easy do 2 miles in this, but now my long runs are supposed to be 12 miles or more. A bit dangerous to expose myself to the cold for extended periods of time, today I had a bloody nose from it. But I did get in a little over 4 today at a 7:35/mile and that's a good thing. Next run is going to be attempted tomorrow evening and then Tuesday. I'll keep ushing on.  |
