The Tenth annual Pittsburgh Marathon is this Sunday, and I'm both nervous and looking forward to this run. The nerves are because I have a lot of time to make up with my running. The injuries have taken their toll on my training and I'm not where I should be at this point. But with the lack of running and how I did in Toledo I should be pretty happy, but I can't stay satisfied... I have to push onward. Even today after a short 3 miler I'm nervous about my calf muscle acting up. With every step I monitor it closely, I'm not out of the woods with this one.
I'm looking forward to this because Pittsburgh puts on a crazy awesome marathon that's a huge challenge and a great tour of the area. 35,000 people will be participating and I'm proud to be one of them. It will be my 2nd course repeat, basically I want another solid steel medal that feels like a miniature manhole cover around my neck. I say this lovingly, it's quite the hunk of coolness. I'll see you this weekend Pittsburgh, and I'll run my heart out.
