It's been a spell since I've posted. As I tried to get through July it was one injury after another, so much so that I only turned in less than half the distance that I did in July of 2017. That was a good month of 148 miles, this one just hurt to get in 72. Today I got up early to beat the heat and I had some success. This was my first long run attempt since July 15th, and that was only 10.35 miles. After that the pulls and stains sidelined me, It was a struggle to get in anything and I finally had to stop. On the surface I'm not happy about the pace today, but I have to cut myself a break. In a strange way I suspect my running app was off, it just felt faster to me with my stride and cadence.
The positives are I was out doing this at 7:32am and breathing in the life around me. The other positive is that I'm gearing up for two marathons in mid September and I will be there. Attempting Erie PA on the 9th, and then Dayton OH 6 days later. Today is about resting up and then lacing up tomorrow and hitting the running trails for a shorter, but productive run.
