It's been 8 days since I finished the marathon and since my last run. My intention was to run within 3 days, but that didn't happen. The truth is I've been fighting a cold that has ventured into flu territory for about 4 weeks. Even during The Monumental Marathon I had a slight fever and was congested. On Wed evening the fever reached its peak or 102 and slowly started it retrograde from there.
For me not running means I can edge closer to gloom and depression, and I did feel that very thing happening. Luckily, I was able to get in a short and sweet 3 miles today. It wasn't much but felt great and I'll be doing more of this tomorrow. It's an odd feeling knowing the days are growing much shorter with the daylight, so I'm 'thinking' about a gym membership. That being said you can bet I'll be doing as much outdoor running as I possible can.
