Sadly the running has ceased this past week, I ventured out on Tuesday with the pulled calf muscle and made it 2 miles when I felt the dreaded 'pop'. I limped 2 miles back to my car in a lot of pain. Yes, it was not a happy evening with perfect temps, the sort of evening you dream of after the weather we've all been through.. I've been using compression during the day at work with a calf sleeve, and in the evenings applying ice packs. The bad news is this is not a good time for this particular injury, I've got Toledo coming up on 4/22 and right now I need the miles. But now the good news, I can tell I'm healing. On Tuesday evening IF things feel correct I will venture out for an extremely easy 1 mile to test the waters. If all is well I'll work in 5 on Wed and so on to resume my normal running routine. Basically I will be in Toledo to run in April.
