I went to Dayton with the best of intentions and the highest of hopes for a great run. However poor planning on my part quickly undid that. I didn't hydrate correctly the day before and missed the first two water stations on the course. My shirt was of a heavier material and didn't breathe (big factor with the rising temps), I had 3 hours of sleep because of another rough hotel experience, and I was worried about not finding parking so I didn't get a chance to grab anything to eat before the marathon. So this guy started on an empty stomach and tired. The results were well... as you see not great.
But this was another learning experience and I have to own this setback. So where do I go from here?... Onward. I'm getting a complete physical which is way overdue and pressing towards my next 1/2 marathon and then my next full in November. All I can do is keep going, quitting isn't an option.
