So on Thursday I broke my toe and that was a set back. But I've still attempted running. Last week was a clear indication that something was off with the level of muscle fatigue I experienced. This week it only became worse, and the toe, and several other pulls. With the Dayton marathon coming up on Sept 16th I need to be smart now about how the next several weeks play out.
On Tuesday I had the honor of meeting a gentleman that finished in the top 200 in Boston this year. After I told him of my running schedule for the last 4 months he mentioned that I hadn't planned any rest for my body, I just keep heaping more miles on. I believe he's correct. It's incredibly hard for me to simply back off when I hear that voice in me that says 'Go go go, you've got shit to prove.' But quit? Never.
